Also, the general public must have pretty bad tastes. I mean the price difference between an entry level
Samsung and a Vizio should not be that much.

I'm not sure what it's like around the world, but here in Australia, I've seen that Samsung LED commercial (with the purple humming bird) so many times, I've lost count. Sony's advertising is around too, I've seen ads for their 200Hz model, but they're much less prominent.

Combined with the extra thin coolness factor, has made Samsung's LCDs a hit in the last year or 2.

Not everyone can afford a Sony or a Samsung, despite being only maybe a hundred more. If my Sony ever dies and I can't repair it myself, i'll probably just get another Vizio and save myself some money. Yes, I'm even picky about picture quality and I own a Vizio.

And their newer model 2009 Plasma's are much brighter and might just be enough to sway customers from the torchlite brightness of LCD. I hear the newly release S1 series which is cheaper by dropping the Viera interactive features (not needed as in most Blu-Ray players anyways) will have even brighter performance.]]>Nov 3rd 2009 4:06AM
