Video: Dish Network Media Center tuner in action

We told you we were able to get a video of the Dish Network tuner for Windows Media Center in action and here it is. You can see that for the most part, the Dish content plays back just like any other HD source. We did seem to think that the channel changes were slower than we were used to, but not bad enough to be a deal breaker. The short clip is after the jump.

really hoping this actually happens asap.... im thinking about going back to cablecard for now because there is no ball park date yet. it could be years away still.

So are they going to release it or is it still "On Hold Indefinitely"?
I'm one of those media center guys that has been patiently waiting for a real HD solution for my diy media center for several years now. I hate to say it but I will go cable card if it is available before the dish network box. I have been a dish network subscriber for years but I will drop them in an instant to get all my HD channels.

If only the DISH receivers themselves had as "mature" UI. I have been with DISH since the early 90's and am over the "juvenile" interface and operation.

ya, if only they had the awesome (and by awesome i mean janky, useless) interface that most other providers offer (exclude ATT & verizon who are only available in VERY limited areas). Dish has the most responsive and intuitive DVR experience out there for the majority of the US.

Man, EVERY TIME we went by this booth there was a group of people looking at this (meanwhile there was little interest in the rest of the Dish booth)
