No the
Windows 7 version of the Netflix Watch Instantly still isn't going to work on Extenders for Media Center, but it will include a more seamless experience than the Vista version does, like the movie info image above. Microsoft really wasn't ready to share any more details with us, but we suspect the search is improved. The fact that they were so tight lipped leads us to believe that Microsoft is still holding back on some Windows 7 details -- at least in regards to internet content and Windows 7. At this point it appears we might have to wait until the official release of Windows 7 to truly figure out if all that work to bring internet content to Windows 7 pays off.
iv been trying to decide if i want to use extenders or put a htpc in each room id like a tv, this is making me lean towards htpc. if they ever get some decent content on watch instantly ill be sold
after what im seeing here today announced at cedia, definitely go witih a single slot 4 or 6 tuner solution inside a server streaming to extenders, xbox 360s.
yeah thats what iv been waiting for, but it would be nice to be able to access netflix watch now and dvd queue from media center on the 360 not have to go back to the dashboard.
Yea I agree it WOULD be nice...but then who will they help sell memberships...lol...hose extra sales from Gold Memberships make them not want to offer it over extenders...lol
I know have become a bit of an HD snob, and no thanks to your podcast Ben. I know Microsoft wasnt divulging much information, but was there any hint if this was going to support their HD Streaming. As it stands I dont really use their streaming service for this very reason...coupled with some loading errors while using the interface.
that looks really nice.... shame its not going to work on extenders because this is useless to me because i am like ben where my media center is treated as a server and is not hooked up to a tv (and never will)
First and foremost, I need it to support HD. Extender support is a close second (partly because of what it would mean for extenders if it worked) but HD support is even more important.
I've been in love with the Netflix on Media Center interface ever since it came out. They integrate the usefulness and the aesthetics of both Netflix and Media Center in one. Netflix is good at that too, they do that well on every platform that supports Netflix, Roku, the website, etc.
double true
I really wish Netflix would get out of bed with MS and let anyone stream their stuff.
At least, they're not as bad as Hulu.
Well Hulu has a deal with its Content Providers...thats kind of why they blocked the PS3....something easily rectified with PlayOn or an HTPC....
This is the only thing I sacrificed by upgrading form Vista to 7. Hopefully they release this soon.
Hopefully it be more watchable / less jittery. Currently either in a browser or in WMC it's pretty bad / soar on the eyes. Or is it an issue with my connection?
Just ran speakeasy test and it says i have

That is wacky. 20,000kbps/500kbps. I can't wait until more services offer more upload
First, I think I saw somewhere a way to install the Vista one on your Win 7 system. A quick google and I didn't find the link but I think it was on the actual Netflix blog somewhere.
Second, FIOS 20/20 is a beautiful thing for running a game server or whatever...
Third, I really wish they'd release it now so I can have it for my Windows 7 release house party... That'd be really nice. At least release it by october 10th. (Yes I really am that much of a geek) http://www.houseparty.com/Windows7
Just loaded up Windows 7 on a 2005 Toshiba Satelllite A75 laptop that was running Vista (came with XP). Netflix could barely play on it before and now its running very smoothly and in what looks like hi def. This laptop has an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 graphics unit that can't even run Aero but the movie looks great.
