There aren't many HD related technologies more difficult to keep up with than media streamers, but of course that doesn't mean we're going to stop trying and with that we bring you a review of the Mede8er Multimedia Monster by Tx Daily. Overall the reviewer was happy with the performance and usability of the device. He found no problems playing back Blu-ray rips in MKV containers and recommends the device "to anyone looking for a total Full HD solution." We do however wish more emphasis was put on the user interface because we find that the weak point of most of these media streamers is exposed when trying to navigate tons of HD content. A video with lots of zooming and a heavy accent after the jump.
"that doesn't mean we're not going to stop trying"
Uhhh, does it mean that you are going to stop trying? Or maybe you aren't going to not start stopping not starting to try not stopping. :)
PCH C-200 can play Blu-ray Disc (after you add a drive) ... Blu-ray .ISO , Blu-ray Folder from a server .. Popcorn hour is the player to beat .. yes it is a Beta firmware now and yes the interface isnt so pretty ... but give it some time and you cannot match the C-200
"more difficult to keep up with then media streamers"...shouldn't it be "than media streamers"?
One simple question:
Can it play m2ts or mkv containers with dts-ma/true-hd/dts-hd audio directly? Can it play mkvs with FLAC audio track?
These are the only 2 things that a media streamer needs to support at this point for me. If you want to be called a real HD streamer these 2 things are a must have otherwise it's just a another crappy streaming device with a prettier UI.
Can't EngadgetHD afford to hire someone that speaks english?
Correction: ... someone who speaks English. ;)
This isn't good news at all. Mede8er made the mistake of including the word "Monster" in their product name.
* (Cue the frivilous lawsuit from Monster Cable, and the ensuing hatred of their products)
..the nerve of some companies.

The product is not called monster, it is the Mede8er MED500X that was just the title of the article ;)
I will get the reviewer to do a few snap shots of the interface for you guys and run an updated article! It will be on http://txdaily.co.za from next week.

@ Bozster.
It can play the M2ts files yes, as for the MKV containers with those sound formats I'll find out from the project managers if it can. I'll also do an update on the interface.
