Televisa broadcasted the first soccer match in 3D
Football and Basketball aren't the only sports to benefit from a 3D presentation and we're sure our friends to the south were excited to see their favorite in 3D. Televisa -- the largest media company in the Spanish speaking world -- presented the America versus Guadalajara soccer match this past Sunday in 3D to theaters in Guadalajara and Monterrey. Said broadcaster also plans to give the same treatment to the Primera División Apertura tournament finals as well -- whatever that is but it sounds impressive. We have had the pleasure of experiencing our favorite sport in a 3D theater and have to say it was very enjoyable, so if you have the opportunity don't pass on it.

Televisa is a media giant, they are the ones who own produce and provide the famous "telenovelas" sopes to Univision here in the U.S. on contract. If there's one that can transmit the Upcomming World Cup Soccer in South Africa in 3-D, it is Televisa. But unfortunately, it'll be for our friends south of us.... ESPN? Forget it and don't even dream about it....Sol.
The Primera División Apertura is the equivalent of the MLS for Mexico. The league year is broken into two parts Apetura and Clausura (Opening and Closing). Each half has it's own champions. Closest thing to a Mexican Super Bowl.
Yep, and from the reviews I heard about it, the match was shot using HD cameras, so it was HD/3D, making it even more impressive.
I'm sorry but i think this 3D stuff just seems like a gimmic and don't see why people care so much. Life is 3D, you want to see a game in 3D go to one live you will enjoy the experience much more than putting on some polarized glasses and watching a screen.
Well, Actually this was played on cinemas too, i did´t went, too bad =(
America won =)
@Proghog: Yes, and the world is in color, and we all know how color TV was a flop!
