Netflix hitting internet-capable Sony BRAVIA sets today
Good news for folks who against all odds don't have a home theater Netflix streaming option yet, and yet inexplicably own an internet-connected Sony BRAVIA TV: Netflix just went live. It just takes applying the latest software update and you're in business. BRAVIA owners were promised the update back in July, and let us be the first to point and laugh insensitively at PS3 owners who have use a "DVD" to get Netflix working on their Cell-powered supermachines.[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

It seems as though Netflix is finding it's way on all internet connected devices. I just hope the day will come that it his the iPhone OS. Apple probably wouldn't allow it in the app store, but stranger things have happened.
I actually wouldn't mind seeing Netflix being put on the Panasonic VieraCast setup. Amazon's Video On-Demand isn't that great, many HD movies are too expensive for one rental.
I also would like to see more movies on Netflix's instant streaming service.
Please, Netflix, please work with Panasonic and get your service on Vieracast!
And let us point and laugh at Paul Miller who doesn't even pretend to know that the PS3 uses a blu-ray disc, not DVD, running BD-Live to side step an exclusive contract Netflix had with Microsoft for game consoles. What is that saying about opening your mouth and proving yourself a fool?
A more interesting article might have been about Sony working with Netflix to get their streaming on Sony's devices? Maybe you're too anti-Sony to report objectively. There was a day when that was the foundation of journalism.
Paul, the idea that somehow a blog that acts as an aggregator for other news stories is somehow expected to be a source of good journalism for you is mindblowing.
Sure, he said DVD instead of Blu-ray. I see what you're saying there, but the need to mention Msoft's exclusivity deal is a bit silly. Regardless of the reason, running Netflix through a Blu-ray is more of a pain in the ass than running it from a menu.
For a story that's "anti-sony", this seems pretty neutral. The gag, in fact, is that Sony television owners get to laugh at Sony console owners.
If only Netflix would spend more time on steaming content and less on integration. But, it is a strategy that could work. They can't convince the studios to let them stream pertinent content until they are buried like ticks in the devices. Genius.
Can anyone confirm this working in Canada?
