Perhaps, but the show has probably outlived its curiosity quotient.

If you're watching a family self-destruct, a completed divorce is the detonation; all else is just minor fallout and debris. The series was watching the creation of the self-destruct device, followed by watching the timer count down, interspersed with some minor failed (and half-hearted) attempts at defusing the device they had created earlier in the show.

They caused their own problems, going all the way back to the doctor-assisted pregnancy of eight simultaneous kids (which was a minor news annoyance at the time). Now they have to live with the consequences.]]>Nov 24th 2009 5:28PM
