Disney's Upgrade2Blu Program saves you $8, lets you keep your DVDs
That company with that mouse sure is open to trying new things, and as if the whole Snow White Blu-ray vs DVD box art wasn't interesting enough, now we have Upgrade2Blu. Like other offers, via an $8 rebate it saves you a few bucks on Blu-ray Discs that you already own on DVD, but what is different is that you get to keep the DVD. This makes sense from a company like Disney since it's been including DVDs with all the Blu-ray releases, which is especially useful for kid's movies. You see as much as we want our kids to grow as HD snobs like us, we still wouldn't dare driving more than an hour in the car without a Disney DVD being played in the back seat.

It's not $8 for the Blu-ray, it's a coupon for $8 OFF. Big difference.
@NodNarb012
Yikes good call, I fixed it.
Thanks
Yuppers - what NodNarbo12 said...it's just a coupon off and the coupon is only valid IN specific stores (though Best Buy etc are on the list) - no on-line redemption.
Now if we can only get Universal to follow suit!
What about my entire Disney VHS collection?
I wasn't offered an upgrade path from VHS to DVD?
VHS to DVD to Blu-Ray?

Donate the tapes to a library or a children's hospital ... that is ... if they'll still take VHS.
@Meekermoloko thats not the point! one could easily "donate" however there is still value in the DISNEY VHS collection as there is value in ones dvd collection. there should have been an upgrade path and WE the consumers shouldn't not be fleeced every time the industry changes to "ANOTHER" format.

I really wish my computer company would give me a trade up program because it is such a racket they keep making faster ones... *rolls eyes* Just go sell the freaking tapes and upgrade to BD already if you want to, no one is forcing you to do anything and a business doesn't need to give you money off because you have old stuff.
@reallynotnick your computer is not the same as the "CONTENT" you own, but a child would know that!
