Malaysia first even HDTV service was launched on 18th Dec 2009 with 5 HD channels: Nat Geo HD, History HD, HBO HD, ESPN HD (first in Asia), astro supersport HD (local sports channel) with just mere RM20 (6 dollars) per month on top of their subscription fee. 10 more HD channels in 2010 with local HD channels. Subscribers are given a free swap of HD Decoder, new dish, new cable and new HDMI cable. Also need to mention about the decoder, it's the world first decoder to support external HDD for PVR (through USB port), means you can plug in any external HDD you have and record whatever you want, but all data will be encrypted and complied with HDCP.
