Blu-ray 3D logo unveiled
We haven't yet laid hands on one of the new 3D Blu-ray players expected to debut later this year, but the BDA is already showing off its new logo. Nice use of perspective to simulate it popping out at you, we'll have to wait and see what gaudy box art surrounds these when movies arrive in the format.

sweet. good thing i stole the RealD glasses when I saw Avatar.
these players WILL require that we use those right??
@Jones Johnson They will include them with the player and/or TV - most likely two sets. Don't feel bad though, I have three pairs of RealD glasses myself.
@(Unverified) Unless your TV uses polarized light the answer is no your glasses won't work.
@Jones Johnson You do realize there are multiple technologies to record and view 3D in. They may or may not require polarized glasses, but I'm guessing most will use active shutters.
So im taking it 3D wont be compatibile with existing blu ray players apart from the Ps3 right ?
@Chas19 Suppose it could be, depends on how much processing it requires. I would hope at least some could get it from a firmware update, but it may have to be a larger update than some players would support.
@Chas19 I think the whole compatible tv part is more concerning than a compatible blu-ray player. I just spent almost $2500 on a new tv, versus $300 on my PS3. I have no problem buying a new blu-ray player, but not so much for the tv. I don't see many people buying a 3D tv, unless they're already looking for a new tv, and the 3D is in a similar price range.
Wow. I bet 14-year old kid could have made a better logo in Photoshop.
@Unverified User I doubt it since Photoshop can't do vector
@mustard
Yes it can.
nice can't wait to see avatar .
Looks nice, can wait to see what the actual players can do
After being the Logo Police for the divestiture of a Baby Bell, I just wish they would stop thinking they're being cute or "corporate" with the lower case r in ray. From my corporate back ground and real world contemporary indicators, it would make it Blu-Ray. But then it is said that 99% of the BR, sorry, Br Board doesn't know how it's actually written.
It's like DVd, or DvD, or Cd. Very unprofessional, but I guess very next century Chick. I know, I meant Chick and not Chic. It's far from Next Century and Chic.
Pretty sweet!
Looks interesting, too bad I can't seem to find a vector version of this logo (EPS, SVG or PDF). :(
