Can someone tell me why my current tv won't do 3d? What does a 3d TV do that mine can't do? I assume some kind of processing but this all seems like snake oil in a way.
Chances are your TV does not support HDMI 1.4 (AKA HDMI High-Speed With Ethernet), which is required for the 1080p 3D that Blu-ray 3D supports. It's also likely your TV does not have the IR emitter required to synchronize your 3D active shutter glasses.
@UnnDunn Thanks for the explanation. I'm nit really a noob but for some reason that information eluded me. I'm considering the move to 3d but the cost is prohibitive. However, the Mitsubishi dlp comes ready for 3d and they generally have rave reviews. Do you know if I have the mitsu 3d dlp, would I be able to take advantage of this kind of 3d blu Ray? FYI I have a ps3 so a new player isn't required. I really appreciate the info.
@(Unverified) you would probably throw up trying to watch 3D your normal LCD or plasma. The fresh rate would be too slow and you would subtlety see the flicker. I've heard it isnt a pleasant experience
@(Unverified) Mitsu DLP's (2008 and later) can do 3d Bluray's even with the PS3 (when the firmware is released). But you will need an adapter that'll cost anywhere from $100-$200. But yes, if you recently bought a new DLP, your TV can do all the 3D coming out later this year.
The Triumph proved to be one of the better looking and performing pre-paid handsets we'd had the pleasure of holding in our sweaty mitts, but we had one major hangup: the name.
