Samsung's 3D plasmas showing up on real and virtual store shelves all over
If you've been waiting for a plasma 3DTV and Panasonic's VT25 isn't your speed (we don't know how you feel about deep, deep black levels, but c'mon, who can turn down Coraline?) then take a look at Samsung's C7000 line, now in stock (on schedule) pretty much everywhere. The 50-inch PN50C7000 is available for a cool $1,650 at Amazon, $1,797 at Vanns and $1,799 at Best Buy. The 63-inch will cost $3,000 from Amazon, while the 58-inch model is $2,350. Upgrading to the C8000 series and their high end home theater tweaks like Real Black Filter and Motion Judder Canceller (we'll see how well they actually work) raises the price to $3,417, $2,483 & $2,067 for the 63-inch, 58-inch and 50-inch models, respectively. They all have Samsung Apps and grabbing a 3D Blu-ray before you hit the check out nets a couple of pairs of glasses and a copy of Monsters vs. Aliens just to get you started, but we'd wager you'll still be well behind the Black Eyed Peas.

How ironic Richard that you bring this up. This set just came in at Fry's Electronics on Tuesday. There was an animated film playing in 2D not 3D. I will tell you something about something that was just as good as the Panasonics. The black levels were incredible. Mind you, this was an animated film. I saw the glasses, but didn't put them on. You all moght not believe me, but I'm in Fry's, Best Buy, or the likes of Sears twice a week. In all, the black levels look very good, but I would need to see another feature length film to determine some of the features you mentioned. Peace...Oh, one more thing. You guys should see the frames that have this woodgrain finish. It looks beautiful.
I had last year pn50b650 has loud buzz at tiime and the 24p mode reset picture setting, hopefully samsung can replace with this baby,
I have been selling these for over a month....old news :)
@jnemesh feel free to drop us a tip when the new joints hit the shelves, we love to hear it, and see it if you have a pic.
@RichardLawler I work for a distributor, selling to the custom installer market, and we have a pretty limited showroom. We elected to display the Samsung UN55C7000 LED LCD, the Panasonic Premier TH65VX100u Plasma, the Sharp "Quattron" LC-52LE820, the Panasonic TCP50VT25, and the Samsung (non-3D) PN50C6500. I am also pushing to get the UN55C9000 on display, its just too damn sexy for words (although personally, I want the Panasonic VT25 for picture quality, even if its "tubby" at 3" thick!) ...we just got a good shipment in of those last week! We also just got in the Samsung PN63C7000 63" 3D plasmas...people have been asking for the bigger sets, and they are finally here!
If you're after appalling viewing angles and the cloudiest back-lighting I've ever seen, Samsung's C7000 is perfect for you.
Look at one of these sets in a dark room. When the screen fades to black, enjoy.
@Darren Pillans you're thining of Samsung's LEDs. Plasmas have no backlight / issues with viewing angle.
@Darren Pillans
I had purchased the UN55C6500 LED TV and it had terrible flashlighting and clouding, as well as terrible off angle viewing. So I took it back and got the PN50C7000 Plasma and it is awesome! I've never had a plasma before but this picture looks great! I do notice the after images it can leave when viewing letterbox formatted movies but I guess that is normal with plasmas.
I would have kept the UN55C6500 if it weren't for the flashlighting/clouding. It was very distracting.
58 and 63C8000 in your Magnolia HT store in Best Buy (for the past few weeks, really).
I actually bought the 63" 8000 version last week and I love it. I have only had LCDs but Plasma is the way to go for 3D. I have had no problem with the black levels on this model yet and I have it in a basement home theater which is dark.
