Hulu reportedly talking to CBS, Viacom about inclusion in Plus subscriber package
It's Wednesday so that must mean... yes, it's time for another Hulu premium service "leak" to appear in MSM. The most recent rumor, reported by BusinessWeek, indicates the streaming video site is talking to CBS and Viacom about getting their properties on what will be called "Hulu Plus" and cost $9.95 a month and potentially offer subscribers more shows and more older episodes. Traffic dipped significantly after Viacom yanked The Daily Show and The Colbert Report from Hulu in April, we'll see if a share of that premium money is enough to lure them back, and if the long rumored service ever actually launches.

Maybe the $9.95 price tag would also allow PS3 users to stream from the browser?
@ValiantEffort
i feel microsoft will grab at least some exclusivity with hulu or that PS3 owners to have PSN+... though i am a little biased to the 360 as a real multimedia center versus the ps3... yea yea i know blu ray, but other then that
I watch Hulu (via PS3/PlayOn) on a regular basis. I'm one of those that doesn't have cable.
All I can say is that Hulu hasn't had shit worth watching in the last several weeks. It's as if they became completely stagnant. If they're going to charge, they need to dramatically improve their content. I can already view CBS and Comedy Central on my setup.
@nrb
Umm, I'm sure that's becasue the it's summer and the TV season is over. There's hardly anything new on cable either.
Hope they do get deals done and on xbox so I can have one place for everything I want to watch.... just that much closer to being able to ditch directv. (with espn + media center for local networks on xbox I will have most of my sports covered which was the only real hangup).
I hope that 10 bucks means I can watch it on my Froyo phone ..Hulu are you listening?
Well back on april 22nd you guys made this sound like a sure thing that was going to happen this summer but now we are back to they might be talking about maybe doing this thing. so many flippin hulu rumors i'm sick of hearing about it. if they do anything compelling to get their service back on track, great! until then i'd just like to stop seeing these 'rumors'
If $10/month means HD streams and access to hulu streams on stbs (like Roku, Tivo, Game consoles, Bluray players, etc) then I'd probably pay. Otherwise, not so much.
I want to see The Big Bang Theory available somewhere, anywhere. If I miss an episode, its torrent or wait for the dvd.
