Clash of the Titans Blu-ray 3D dated in Japan, packed in with Aquos 3DTVs
Ok, we're not sure that Clash of the Titans is the kind of 3D experience we'd want someone to have on their first time -- in case you've forgotten, a weak movie and a poor 2D to 3D conversion added up to a weak reception in reviews when the movie was in theaters -- but Sharp apparently thinks differently. It's promoting the movie alongside the 3D editions of its Quattron LCD HDTVs and, assuming our understanding of machine translated Japanese is correct, will be tossing in a copy gratis with purchases. At least in Japan, the 2D version of the blu-ray will be released august 25, with the 3D & 2D combo pack arriving October 6, if you've just got to have your Sam Worthington fix before Avatar is rereleased in November.

whoa...
So let me get this straight; the quattron TVs (which got bad reviews) and Clash of the Titans 3D (which got terrible reviews) will now be packaged together? Actually I guess it kinda makes sense, but wouldn't you want to package something crappy with something good (like Avatar) to make up for it? It's like putting a Halo 3 beta invite into Crackdown which would've sold like 10,000 copies had it not had that exclusive incentive.
Why are all of the 3D movies being bundled with expensive shit and bundled only? I think Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is the only one that you can buy without having to buy glasses that A) you might already have or B) might not even work with your TV as they don't work with different brands of TV.
Not saying I SERIOUSLY need to see this movie (I'd need a good mental scrubbing afterward), or anything, just that the push for 3D isn't really getting anywhere when a movie TECHNICALLY costs upwards of $300
Oh, Jesus ... so a movie that was slammed as the worst 3D conversion to date is what's getting packed with 3D TVs? Seriously?! Who the f*ck thought that this was a good idea and does that idiot still have a job?
