Apple now selling older HD movies for $10
Buying HD movies from iTunes has never been the most popular option, but it's at least a little cheaper now that Apple has added a $10 or less HD movie section for older titles that were previously sold for the new-film premium of $20. The sub-$10 library only consists of 30 titles at the moment (though we assume that'll grow with time), including 3:10 to Yuma, American Psycho, and The Doors, as well as more appropriate bargain bin specimens like Midgets vs. Mascots, The Midnight Meat Train, and Witless Protection. Ideally, we'd love for the rumored new Apple TV and $0.99 TV show rental option to make all of this somewhat of a moot point, but you'll never catch us complaining about price drops. And besides, it's not like we'll be dropping our Netflix subscriptions based on "maybes" or "mights."

Isn't that a coincidence.
The local Wally-world has a very prominent discount BluRay display in their electronics section now. This includes a lot of what you could call "second run" BluRay movies for only $9.99.
Congratulations, Apple. You finally have a price that is _under_ 10X what it should be.
How long before Apple sues Comcast for their 250GB data cap? They would be doing us all a favor.
Until they sell me 1080p video, with all the extras on the Blu-ray discs, I don't care. Apple fanboy that I am, this is one area I won't tolerate a lax attitude towards quality. Very un-Apple-like, being so pragmatic. @phatboyslim has it right. Stop the pipe owners from restricting competition through bandwidth caps and throttling, and things will change.
its NOT 10$ its 9:99$ !
I get most of my catalog blu-ray titles for $10 or less. Considering they come with extras, 1080p video, lossless audio, and often a DVD or digital copy, I don't see how Apple is even close to competitive. That also doesn't factor in that I have to use my own bandwidth to download the movie from them.
I was buying $7-8 Blu-ray movies from Amazon two years ago. Way to catch up Apple!
Until they get rid of DRM for the movies I buy for them that don't tie me to their crap platform and their devices only.. I will take a pass..
I'd rather buy stuff from Amazon because most of the other providers of digital content have agreements with other hardware manufacturers so I can watch my content on multiple devices I choose. For example, stuff I buy on Amazon I can watch on my Xbox 360 or certain TVs or devices or a ton of other things.
With Apple, when I buy content from them, I have to willingly accept the fact that I will have to buy their hardware and put it with the rules forever unless I want to lose all my content.
$10 or $20.. doesn't matter to me.. I will never buy their DRMed stuff anymore.. I learned my lesson once with music..and I got raped to pay extra money to get the DRM free versions from them.
The company is the greediest company I have ever seen in all my 35 years of existence.
Can they be watched from the left side ?
While I agree this is way to expensive for what is offered, it's really not Apple's fault but the movie studios.
