Netflix officially announces PS3 search, promises 'more cool features in store'
Sure we knew the PlayStation 3 had added search to its Watch Instantly repertoire (some of you have known longer than others) but just in case, there's a post on the official Netflix blog from VP of product development Greg Peters saying so. The truly interesting element is that this may be just the tip of the iceberg for any Netflix watcher, as he explains this upgrade is a result of the company's "continuous improvement architecture" that will allow it to add more features. No word on specifically what "cool features" (closed captions? 1080p? surround sound? offline viewing?) could be in store, but we certainly can't wait to find out. Seriously -- we can't wait, we want to know right now. Tell us.

I assume that image is a mockup then (for subtitles)?
@Will Dearborn CC is already available on some tiles (Lost) via PC streaming, click the link for closed captions for more info.
Id be much happier with no disc. Hulu can do it! My PS3 is over 10 feet from my couch! And that's after finding the drawer the disc is in! Do you have any idea how freakin' busy I am?

Netflix is just too expensive for what you get these days. It is one subscription service I can just pass on.
@maythetechbewithyou well thats a first....I hear the "Hulu+ is point" argument all the time...but thats a first for Netflix.....its just $9/month

True but their instant streaming library has been lacking of late, even to the point where they have removed things they once had in there. And $9 a month doesn't get you Blu-Ray (which I have a PS3, I would want BD). It's just another subscription I don't need, especially since I have all of Comcast's services (I am an employee so I get all the channels for free) and OnDemand is a pretty sweet deal.
