Poll: Is it live or is it HDTV, how do you want to watch sports this season?
We heard you loud and clear, last time we asked, most preferred the comfort of their custom home theater setup to a day at the ballpark, and teams must have too, as they have responded accordingly. A New York Times story about the new Meadowlands notes new stadiums have made massive high definition scoreboards, smartphone apps and other enhancements a part of their business, along with everyday-sized HDTVs everywhere you go within the concourse and luxury suites. The USA Today wants to know what you think gives the best angle on gameday, and so do we. Is new technology enough to bring people back to the ballpark or at least ease the trend of fans staying home? Let us know if you're tailgating this season, or just plopping down on the couch for a few hours.

More than all of that, for me it's the PVR. Watch on my time, pause for an hour to go barbeque some lunch. Don't watch any non funny commercials... etc.
@walljordan
You are crazy, the only thing I watch live is sports. You just can't take a chance of someone spoiling the excitement for you. And if you aren't live you can't call friends and give a hard time about their sorrows.
@BenD It's just not worth the commercials to me. I watch a Pats game at the speed I want and see all the action but skip the commercials and half time. Or I can watch a packers game in 65 mins, jumping 30 seconds between each play and it works out almost perfect.
@walljordan I have to watch games live. If I can't see them live I'll just watch the highlights on Sportcenter.
For anything other than sports the DVR is fine.
@walljordan
Can not agree more. Have been using DVR since 2002. Usually start a football game 1.5 hours late than live and finish at about the same time.
@ppw I agree, I typically start late and end on time. If the game has already ended I will typically just watch highlights online unless it was a game I really wanted to see
Football: TV for sure. Baseball or hockey: Live is so much better.
I just depends on the sport, and it depends on the stadium too. I love going to minuet made park and cussing at the ref for a bad call... then getting kicked out. Hockey and soccer are always fun to go to (IMO)
Live on all sporting events. TV is nice, but watching the event live is such an experience that you should never pass up that opportunity.
El Barto you must be so proud of yourself getting kicked out of a stadium.
I voted something else, it depends on the teams playing, the importance of the game, and the weather. Who wants to see last place teams in crappy weather, i will stay at home. But Dodgers Vs, Yankees regular season game, or Chargers vs. Jets playoff game is well worth it. But I would love to watch 49ers vs. Raiders on TV (who wants to get killed over a football game).

Meh. If the team is not worth watching live, then they aren't worth watching at all. So the DVR or Live TV option doesn't matter.
I wish the TV productions would quit centering the line of scrimmage on the screen. Who wants to watch 25 yards of offensive backfield?
Better yet, give us the Madden view, floating behind the fullback. That would be awesome!
NFL: HDTV (unless there is a MNF game here). I have Sunday Ticket. Would have to miss the others if I went to a game (which is why MNF is awesome).
College football: LIVE! There is nothing like being in a college stadium on Saturday! Gig 'Em :)
I love going to games live. I go see the Yanks about 2 to 3 times a year. I wanted to go to LA when they played the Dodgers but my friends didn't have the money to go. I have only been to 2 Jets games because NFL tickets are just too expensive. I might go see the new Hartford Colonials of the new UFL league this year. I would love to go see Chelsea play more but flying to London every week just isn't economical, so I see them when ever they come to the states and hope to visit London soon so I can see them play at Stamford Bridge.
I wish the they would give up on 3D and just give me uncompressed 1080p broadcasts.
I assume "something else" is short for Buffalo Wild Wings? or a similar sports bar.
