Especially not when we've got new hardware and software from the likes of TiVo and Comcast to discuss during Cable Show 2012. Comcast is actually all over the news this week, with bandwidth policy changes and new features. Motorola won't be left behind either, showing off a new concept DreamGallery UI, while our old friend Moxi is even in the house with an update. Also up for discussion is whether or not 96k TrueHD audio sampling is worth getting excited over, Super Hi-Vision broadcasts and a new web streaming UI from Netflix.<br /> <br /> <strong>Get the podcast</strong><br /> [<a href="http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=126269845&amp;s=143441">iTunes</a>] Subscribe to the Podcast directly in iTunes (MP3).<br /> [<a href="http://podcasts.engadgethd.com/rss-aac.xml">RSS</a> - Be a fence-sitter with us for a little while: it's not so bad up here (and we get great reception).<br /> <br /> <strong>Hosts:</strong> Myriam Joire (<a href="http://tnkgrl.wordpress.com/">tnkgrl</a>), Brad Molen<br /> <strong>Guest:</strong> Chris Ziegler<br /> <strong>Producer:</strong> <a href="http://djtrent.com">Trent Wolbe</a><br /> <strong>Music: </strong><a href="http://ghostly.com/artists/tycho">Tycho</a> - <a href="http://ghostly.com/releases/coastal-brake">Coastal Brake</a> (<a href="http://ghostly.com/">Ghostly International</a>)</p><p> 00:01:06 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/17/best-buy-expects-evo-4g-lte-to-land-may-23rd-htc-remains-cautio/">Best Buy expects EVO 4G LTE to land May 23rd, HTC remains cautious</a><br /> 00:03:00 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/17/apple-and-htc-ordered-by-judge-to-sit-down-in-mediation/">Apple, HTC ordered by judge to sit down, try and make nice on August 28th</a><br /> 00:07:00 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/15/htc-one-x-and-evo-4g-lte-delayed-at-customs-due-to-itc-exclusio/">HTC One X and EVO 4G LTE delayed at customs due to ITC exclusion order (updated)</a><br /> 00:13:15 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/10/htc-evo-4g-lte-for-sprint-review/">HTC EVO 4G LTE for Sprint review (updated)</a><br /> 00:30:00 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/15/t-mobile-restructure-layoffs/">T-Mobile CEO Philipp Humm issues memo discussing restructuring plans, more jobs affected</a><br /> 00:48:06 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/17/htc-confirms-one-x-multitasking-tweaks-in-sense-4/">HTC confirms One X multitasking tweaks in Sense 4</a><br /> 00:51:30 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/16/ntt-docomos-galaxy-s-iii-to-ship-with-2gb-ram/">NTT DoCoMo's Galaxy S III to ship with 2GB RAM?</a><br /> 00:59:27 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/16/lg-ui-3-0-android-ics-skin/">LG shows off UI 3.0 for Ice Cream Sandwich devices, says it's 'unobtrusive and simple'</a><br /> 01:06:22 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/15/google-planning-multiple-nexus-devices-android-jelly-bean/">Google reportedly planning stable of Nexus devices with Android 5.0, will sell 'em direct</a><br /> 01:15:48 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/16/verizon-cfo-says-grandfathered-unlimited-plans-on-the-way-out/">Verizon CFO says grandfathered unlimited plans on the way out</a><br /> 01:18:07 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/16/wsj-apple-moving-towards-larger-iphone-screens/">WSJ: Apple moving towards larger iPhone screens</a><br /> 01:30:05 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/11/report-apple-dumping-google-for-own-maps-app-in-ios-6/">Report: Apple dumping Google for own Maps app in iOS 6 (update)</a></p><p></p><p> <strong>Hear the podcast</strong><br /> <object -flash="" application="" data="http://www.weblogsinc.com/media/audio_player.swf" height="100" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="330" x-shockwave=""><param name="movie" value="http://www.weblogsinc.com/media/audio_player.swf" /><param name="FlashVars" value="soundFile=http://www.engadget.com/podcasts/EngadgetMobile_Podcast_138.mp3" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="menu" value="false" /></object><br /> <strong>Subscribe to the podcast</strong><br /> [<a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=303668886">iTunes</a>] Subscribe to the Podcast directly in iTunes<br /> [<a href="http://podcasts.engadgetmobile.com/rss.xml">RSS MP3</a>] Add the Engadget Mobile Podcast feed (in MP3) to your RSS aggregator and have the show delivered automatically<br /> [<a href="http://podcasts.engadgetmobile.com/rss-aac.xml">RSS AAC</a>] Add the Engadget Mobile Podcast feed (in enhanced AAC) to your RSS aggregator<br /> [<a href="zune://subscribe/?EngadgetMobile=http://podcasts.engadgetmobile.com/rss.xml">Zune</a>] Subscribe to the Podcast directly in the Zune Marketplace<br /> <br /> <strong>Download the podcast</strong><br /> <strong><a href="http://www.engadget.com/podcasts/EngadgetMobile_Podcast_138.mp3">LISTEN (MP3)</a><br /> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/podcasts/EngadgetMobile_Podcast_138.m4a">LISTEN (AAC)</a><br /> <br /> Contact the podcast</strong><br /> podcast (at) engadgetmobile (dot) com.<br /> <br /> <strong>Follow us on Twitter</strong><br /> <a href="http://twitter.com/tnkgrl">@tnkgrl</a> <a href="http://twitter.com/phonewisdom">@phonewisdom</a> <a href="http://twitter.com/zpower">@zpower</a> <a href="http://twitter.com/engadgetmobile">@engadgetmobile</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/19/engadget-mobile-podcast-138-05-19-2012/">Engadget Mobile Podcast 138 - 05.19.2012</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 19 May 2012 18:00:00 EDT. They are <em>everywhere</em>, in constantly evolving iterations, smaller and more versatile than ever before. Singaporean manufacturer <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Xmini/">X-mini</a> has a pretty good foothold in this game with a consistent brand message of "Sound Beyond Size." That indicates the portability, mass, and reproductive capacity of its products in a pretty nebulous fashion, so we decided to grab its latest offering, the Bluetooth-toting KAI, and place it in our real lives for a few months. It's available now for $99, which will take it off the table for many casual listeners, but those who crave what's next in distributed audio might find KAI to be quite the ear-opener. We got pretty close with it (but not <em>weird</em> close), and we have a couple of things to say about that whole size / sound relationship they're so keen on.</p><p>
</p><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/16/x-mini-kai-capsule-bluetooth-speaker-review/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>X-mini KAI capsule Bluetooth speaker review</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/16/x-mini-kai-capsule-bluetooth-speaker-review/">X-mini KAI capsule Bluetooth speaker review</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 16 May 2012 15:00:00 EDT. From Ben's review to the new Dish Hopper whole-home DVR to the latest Windows Media Center news from Ceton. There's a little bit of everything also, from talk of high-framerate 3D to Dolby's new Atmos surround sound setups, and even a juicy rumor about where TWC TV will touch down next. Just in case that's not enough, we pause to consider a future full of 145-inch 8K plasma TVs. Press play and come dream along with us.<br /> <br /> <strong>Get the podcast</strong><br /> [<a href="http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=126269845&amp;s=143441">iTunes</a>] Subscribe to the Podcast directly in iTunes (MP3).<br /> [<a href="http://podcasts.engadgethd.com/rss-aac.xml">RSS</a> - AAC] Enhanced feed, subscribe to this with iTunes.<br /> [<a href="http://hd.engadget.com/category/podcasts/rss.xml">RSS</a> - MP3] Add the Engadget HD Podcast feed to your RSS aggregator<br /> [<a href="zune://subscribe/?EngadgetHD=http://www.engadget.com/category/podcasts/rss.xml">Zune</a>] Subscribe to the Podcast directly in the Zune Marketplace<br /> [<a href="http://www.engadget.com/podcasts/EngadgetHD_Podcast_297.mp3">MP3</a>] Download the show (MP3).<br /> <br /> <strong>Host</strong><strong>s</strong>: Ben Drawbaugh (<a href="http://www.twitter.com/bjdraw">@bjdraw</a>), Richard Lawler (<a href="http://twitter.com/rjcc">@rjcc</a>)<br /> <br /> <strong>Producer</strong>: Trent Wolbe</p><p> 00:18:00 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/30/dish-hopper-whole-home-dvr-review/">Dish Hopper whole-home DVR review</a><br /> 00:37:30 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/30/ceton-windows-media-center-companion-app-echo-extender-beta/">Ceton's Media Center mobile apps are for all, app and Echo extender beta signups open now</a><br /> 00:45:15 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/30/peter-jackson-hobbit-48fps/">Peter Jackson unfazed by 'Hobbit' footage pushback, but will stick to 24 fps for trailers</a><br /> 00:59:00 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/26/dolby-atmos-technology-gives-new-meaning-to-surround-sound/">Dolby's Atmos technology gives new meaning to surround sound, death from above</a><br /> 01:01:25 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/27/time-warner-cable-twc-tv-roku/">Time Warner Cable is preparing for TWC TV IPTV streaming on Roku boxes</a><br /> 01:03:43 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/27/apple-tv-streaming-talks/">Reuters: Apple in talks to stream films owned by Epix, no deal expected before September</a><br /> 01:04:50 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/26/directv-everywhere-android-app-tv-movie-streaming/%20">DirecTV Everywhere brings streaming movies, TV shows to Android right now, iPhone keeps waiting</a><br /> 01:07:13 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/27/panasonic-145-inch-8k-plasma-nhk-japan/">Panasonic teams up with NHK on 145-inch 8K Super Hi-Vision plasma TV</a><br /> 01:10:30 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/26/samsung-q1-2012-earnings/">Samsung's Q1 2012 profits nearly double year-over-year on higher margins for TVs and phones</a><br /> 01:11:00 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/25/lg-q1-2012-earnings/">LG's Q1 2012 earnings show greater profits on strong TV, phone sales</a><br /> 01:12:43 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/26/sky-sports-3d-rumor/%20">Sky considering launching Sky Sports 3D, one channel too small for three dimensions</a><br /> 01:13:50 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/30/star-trek-the-next-generation-season-one-blu-ray/">Star Trek: The Next Generation Season One Blu-ray beams down July 24th</a><br /> 01:17:50 - <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/30/must-see-hdtv-april-30th-may-6th/">Must See HDTV (April 30th - May 6th)</a></p><p> <strong>Hear the podcast</strong></p><p> <object -flash="" application="" data="http://www.weblogsinc.com/media/audio_player.swf" height="100" style="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="330" x-shockwave=""><param name="FlashVars" value="soundFile=http://www.engadget.com/podcasts/EngadgetHD_Podcast_297.mp3" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="menu" value="false" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /></object><!--{12806136840420}--><br /> <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a href="http://www.engadget.com/podcasts/EngadgetHD_Podcast_297.mp3"><strong>LISTEN (MP3)</strong></a><br /> <strong><a href="http://www.engadget.com/podcasts/EngadgetHD_Podcast_297.m4a"><strong>LISTEN (AAC)</strong></a></strong></strong></span></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/01/engadget-hd-podcast-297-05-01-2012/">Engadget HD Podcast 297 - 05.01.2012</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 01 May 2012 20:04:00 EDT.
