So... when I read the specs about battery life.

If I'm on the go on a 3G network, there is no improvement at all?

iphone 3G
standby 300hours
talk time on 3G 5
internet time on 3G

iphone 3GS
the same !!
Nice, but still...
Went through detailed specifications on sprint website.. and still NOT A SINGLE WORD on BATTERY LIFE ?
I'm beginning to fear some bad surprise.
No need to wear special gloves anymore with those dumb capacitive screens !!!
CALENDAR ??

Is it on par with palm pre ??
Can you actually show and manage multiple calendars such as Exchange for work PLUS a few google agendas at the same time ?
I hope there will be a new line of products like this (think symbian or android).
I really dig the form factor. It reminds me of HP 28 C : http://www.hpmuseum.org/img/28cs.jpg
Graphic and comparison are somewhat irrelevant if not put in relation to the size of the markets that was addressed during that period.
This is pointed by the author of the post... who says iphone is for 21 countries.. when G1 is only for US.

Why not put a graphic that shows either :
- same graphic but indicating the total size of the markets in which it was launched
- or a graphic with a penetration speed... with curves :) (iphone 3G reached 0.1% market share where distributed in xx days, etc)

Or else that all seems so partial (agaaaaain).

Your comment is completely outdated, as what you state is plainly wrong in 2008 (was true a decade ago though).
France is one of the leading countries for broadband, and has the largest number of IPTV subscribers in the world. FTTH is rolling out in many cities, with 4 different providers rushing to connect paris...
IPTV has HD, but it's not what the article is about.. The article was about HD DTT, which is not big in France. The reference to 2012 is theswitch off date for analog terrestrial.
Some references in this blog (which points to different articles from the WSJ or other sources) http://gigaom.com/2006/03/27/frances-broadband-miracle/

Nice pics!

But what we would reaally love to see, is how the new touch interface works.. How natural it, how fluid, how sleek... (ok..I'll say it.. how does it compare with the iphone???)

So... please.. a nice video to show off the calendar, notes, etc.. how it works to browse through contacts etc.

Thanks!
OK.. some other mistakes.

Here is the deal :
You can buy your iphone with a 2 year or 1 year contract. You pay your locked iphone 399euros. You can then unlock it for 100 euros right now (useless indeed) or free of charge after 6 months (interesting if you just have a one year plan, or want to keep your iphone and switch operator once your contract is over).

You can buy your locked iphone with a plan that has no duration (meaning you can leave Orange anytime without penalty) for 549 euros. The same as above applies : if you unlock it right now, it'll cost you 100 euros, if you wait 6 months, it will be free of charge.

You can buy an unlocked iphone for 649 euros: same as if you buy a locked one with no plan at all, plus the 100 euros to unlock it right away.

Got it?
come to me my precious
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for the best geotagging camera currently available. The most important feature for me is the accuracy of the GPS module, so any hard specs on satellite receiver would be really useful. Thanks for your time!"
