I was suckered in by the headline. Although very tiny and I'm sure it was a PITA to put together, I'm not sure I can call the vaguely discolored edge of a piece of plastic a "model train". I guess I'm jaded and was hoping for something made by MIT or Caltech or Dr. Evil.
It also results in a lower quality image.
Sure, you'd be invisible... except for the ginormous heat signature you'd put off.
Doesn't the Dell still beat these specs for a lot less?
For me it was a no-brainer to go the the Alamo Drafthouse and watch it on a Sony 4k projector. Plus they'll serve me a Guinness and a pizza while I watch! :-P
We have Sony 4k in Austin. Looks great. I think some of this can be attributed to the scaling powers of the Sony. The shows I've seen are all upscaled from lower res and the clarity is spot on. They ran the final episode of Battlestar Galactica from XBOX and there were no artifacts at 4k. Even in the busiest action scene there was no blurring.
Any guess as to how long it takes for an OLED to disintegrate under direct sunlight?
I was lucky enough to see the last three hours (2 Eps) at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin on a Sony 4k projection system. It upscaled beautifully, the detail was incredible. Do the math: on a 40' screen each pixel was 1/8" from 25' away. There were no artifacts or weird colors. Anyway, I'm looking forward to a BD release of the series.

Shouldn't this be listed under 'CrapGadgets'?

"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
