LG TVs in the US have been using IPS for a while, as far back as 2005. I can't really say that it makes any imporvement over any other manufacturers displays without it though.
I sell Pioneer and Elite TVs, and we just had a visit from our Pioneer rep. He said they are exploring a large panel. Perhaps a 65" is in the works. They are going 100% 1080p. There will be no replacement to the PDP-5080HD and the PRO-1150HD which have already stopped production and are sold out from Pioneer. Any panels available are sitting in warehouses at this point.
Sony is offering retailers a credit for each one that they sell for $299 through 12/31. This is nothing more than a Sale that sony is running to push their product. This is not a permanent price drop. It may become one after 1/1, but as of right now, it is just a sony-sanctioned sale.
I want one!
Look for a $100 price drop out of sony on the BDP-s300 in the next few weeks. They are dropping the price down to 399.99. I still don't think it will be enough, but it's better than nothing.
i wanna win something!
The LG Navs are Nice. I wouldn't mind having one.

"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
