Coming from someone who is using both Snow Leopard, and Windows 7 RC, both seem pretty stable. SL has had 0 problems the last few updates. Windows 7 has kernel paniced on me a few times, though.
Mark,

I am on your side, but keep your Engligh in the UK. We speak it properly here in the US, and we brush our teeth.
wow, so you are expecting the people getting paid $8/hour to keep on top of every press release that you assume they receive, and know the channel lineup better than their ABCs? You sound like the type of person whom thinks everyone is dumber than yourself... must be fun to be you.
you can find tech specs from the company that actually make these here:

http://www.macpower.com.tw/products/hddmulti/hydra/hydra_superscombo

it appears that the eSATA connection (the one that pretty much goes directly to the HDs themselves) is the fastest.

the controller boards in their products are garbage.
so-dimm's are ok.

the problem here is that those are DDR2 sodimm slots....
@Albert
you are forgetting that Apple only considers what is being sold an "upgrade" license. IANAL, so I don't know what is legal, but Psystar is definitely in the gray area in copyright law here.

I think Apple may be using this as a testing grounds to see how well a third-party Mac will sell. I assume outside of their main selling area, they are doing quite well, but I think most people buying a Mac in the US are going to buy from Apple themselves. They are not just selling to hard core users like they were in the 90s, and I am sure many of their Pro users would like some options for system choice, but I still think most would buy from Apple themselves only.
This posting of MacPower [ http://www.macpower.com.tw/ ]...er I mean, OWC products is getting out of hand. It is a lot of overpriced, chinese crap.
@BoC: Does it really make you feel better so compare something brand new on the PC market, to year old Mac Pros? Of course is will be faster, but also a different CLASS of computer. The i7 processers are not part of the Xeon family, they are for general consumption.

As for this Dell, I will that they have come a LONG way. As a MacBook owner, I am jealous, as I think these look much nicer, less the excess behind the hinge. I wouldn't mind picking one of these up if it were made using hardware that is linux/osx compatible. One thing I hate about laptops, though, is that some really low quality hardware could be used (touchpad, invertor, etc) is expensive to replace :(
just checked yet again, and no, I can't get uverse in palatine. I would gladly give up comcast, but if AT&T's tv units are as reliable as Comcasts', I don't think I would look forward to switching...
seriously, this is news? owc dropped a drive in an enclosure. wait, wait!!

1. combine blu-ray drive and enclosure
2. ???
3. profit!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
