Reduction in power consumption is significant enough for me to consider selling my launch 60GB unit for the Slim.
Which one are you? Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh?
@Nilay:

I understand that you guys are liking it now that you have it. What I'm saying is that you guys put out those shopping guides yet 'till now you didn't have one of the three major consoles. You guys just did one for back to school where you recommended the X360. Imagine a publication like Consumer Reports recommending Ford Focus over Toyota Prius yet they never drove the Toyota Prius.

It just seems contrary to this website's other rules such as not keeping review units, not accepting paid travel, etc.
For tech writers you guys are pretty ignorant about PS3. The console with most cutting edge technology. How can you guys feel qualified to put out those shoppers guides when most of you don't even own a machine with 20 some million owners? From now on I definitely won't be taking you guys' word for it.
Hold the PS button and from there turn off "full screen" or something (been loooong time since I've played PS2 game on mine, so not sure about the exact wording).
Why did you trade it in first place if you still wanted to play PS2 games?
I've had a PS3 since launch, the controller still holds charge like it did on day one. I'm really amazed by it, even Enloops don't last this long. I'm also amazed by how much misinformation is out there regarding this beast that is PS3.
"If I were to purchase a PS3 again, I want to buy the older models due to them having PS2 b/c, but unfortunately, they are also more likely to receive the YLOD error or have their Blu-Ray drive fail. : ("

You're an disgrace to Desis all over the world. You should be smarter than that.
@shawn.vanhoose:

MS and Sony will engage in a new war where whoever comes out with new console before the other wins. Hence opening a new front on console wars, leading to new console digit every couple of years. Eventually leading to a new console by MS that permanently locks you up in a holodek for the rest of your life. While everyone complains that holodeck made by Sony is too expensive and can't play PS2 games.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
