Lifetime is a word used by companies in different ways. For example, 3Com used to offer a real lifetime warranty. Now it means about 3years, although it is still a lifetime (of the product). So the lifetime subscription could be over as soon as the next-gen equipment comes out.
I have watched allot of OTA HDTV and know that it will look terrible without an antenna whose quality is relative to the distance of the broadcast location.

For those who donot believe here is one of the couple that were made. One was actually sold on ebay and was installed into a computer.
3DFX made a Quad card many years ago. It was so far ahead of its time that it was stopped by its competitors from ever making it to the market.
