I'll respond to my own post by saying that I see they have a cover (The Lyra light cover) in the works that has essentially what I was talking about. I wish feature could be built-in, but I suppose 99% of people will want some sort of cover anyhow so that is a good option.
It reads ePub, which is an standard that is read by handle held devices (phones, pdas, etc) and the Sony Reader. That's not very proprietary.

I think you just want a reason to hate it.
I like both this and the kindle... but one thing that I would like to see is a light. The sony reader has a light around the edges, but why not even make a light that pulls out of the top (like an antenna) and folds up, similar to how book lights work anyhow... but have it built in... is that too much to ask? I don't want to carry around (or have to buy) a light for a $260 reader!
@FNG: I didn't hate it, I've definitely seen worse. I just don't think I want to own it. If I could edit the movie, it would be good. Take out the stupid dufus robots, the robot balls, and the mom/dad scenes around campus... then it's not that bad.

First one was good but this one fell well short of what I wanted. Like you said though, to each his own. :-)
I'm really up in the air as to whether I even want to buy this. I'm sure it will look great, but man... it was just so awful. I mean, robot balls... ????
Oops I made the same comment just now... that's what I get for not reading them all first :-)
Earthbound had this... you could run around and even right I think with just your left hand on the controller.
Well if you go to K-marts site now they have a pre-sale for the slim for $299.
Making this exclusive does nothing to help Netflix, and I'm not sure it helps Microsoft very much. I own a PS3, and if I want to stream Netflix movies I'm not going to buy an Xbox 360 just to do that. If I were in the market for one it may help though.

I wonder if Netflix will respond to user outcry as they did with the elimination of queues? Perhaps there aren't as many PS3 users interested in this, but then again Netflix "thought" nobody used the queues either.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
