I think it was all down to very poor/non-existent marketing by HD-DVD.

Here in the UK most shops don't even mention HD-DVD, but have stocked a selection (albeit small) of Blu-rays. Nearly all the ads in the UK for DVDs now have the phrase 'Also available on Blu-Ray' within them, and the PS3 has been a huge factor in making blu-ray seem; to the consumer, to be the next-gen format supported by more products than HD DVD.
What is funny is if Sony had not released figures like Nintendo have apparently not done, then everyone would ignore this and go, 'Yeah Sony are so f*****g out of order' and 'another reason to hate Sony...'
let's be honest, although the name sounds odd, there are a truck load of other products that sound equally odd;
ixus, wii, ipod, presario, pavilion etc. and let's be grateful sony have actually given it a name, most of it's products are like the walkman ex-501fm99op or the cybershot DSC-t1900.
jay, get a life and calm down.

sony have redesigned every single one of their consoles to make a lighter cheaper more advanced version, its not like they are copying nintendo or summin. what and you are having a go at them for lowering the price of the ps3?!
lmao, everyone lowers the price of everything at some point.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
