are you kidding me... yeah the coverage was better, it was in HD unlike 4 years ago. Tape delay does suck... if you disagree then try this, record the world series, masters, super bowl, final four, any big american event, and watch it 8 hours later.. then come back here and see if not showing it live makes sense. But here is the best part, if you do what i just stated, then you just prove why NBC messed up, they could of showed it live and you could of still watched it via your dvr.

P.S. the best rated event for the olympics was (live) U.S. vs. Canada for the gold in hockey. Not in primetime, on sunday afternoon.
So what happened to all of those people that said Blu-ray is dead, where are those people? Now that more companies are doing Blu-ray with DVD included and digital copy and cheaper prices, Blu will continue to sell more and more.
Maybe we should send this story to retailers. I was at my local best buy over the thanksgiving weekend and one of the guys told a customer that LCD is better because they do not have burn-in. I later told that customer that the Best Buy is an idiot and he ended up buying the Samsung Plasma.

Can I get the commission for that purchase???
@nrb
it was a joke, but if you really want to get into it. The amount of tech supplies used and purchased in the midwest is far less than the amount in the east and west coasts.

It sounds right. people still have tubed tvs, the midwest and the dakotas still exist so they are still out of touch. Not really surprised.

I want a poll that asks so you think your watching HD, and then the real numbers of how many are watching HDTV.
I would vote for a movie that comes out next week that I love... HEAT. The bank robbery scene in Blu-ray should be insane.
no offense, well yes i am offending, I hate people like you who rip movies, brag about it, screwing people who work hard on movies and not getting the movie they deserve.
1st... if you did buy this movie i hope you got the wal-mart version because they are the only ones to have the IMAX versions, yeah its not much but it is better.

2nd... I also agree that their are other movies with better sound and picture with better plots, like every Pixar movie made, Casino Royale, the first Transformers movie, I even like the Pirates movies, maybe not the 3rd one.
You are right EM1, not into the epic blockbusters that studios churn out every year. Studios every year churn out epic motion pictures that win Best Picture at the academy awards and win numerous other awards, and are considered some of the greatest movies of all time. That happens often.

As for historical accuracy, thats why these are called motion pictures, real stories are told in biographies.
I was wanting one for a gaming system, but then realized that the amount of games and time spent on the 360, that its not logical to by the ps3.

Now as a blu-ray player alone, thats a pretty expensive player when now the average price is 199.

But I would tell anyone who does not have a gaming console and needs a blu-ray player that the ps3 is your best choice if you see yourself gaming someday.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
