...as gtdavemac said. Great minds?

(I had opened this page to read earlier in the evening and neglected to refresh and check for new comments before posting mine.)
iMovie scans your iPhoto library each time it's opened. If you let iPhoto import the movie when it imports your still photos, as it should do by default anyhow, you can then fire up iMovie and find it there in the "iPhoto Videos" view in the Event Library, waiting for you to edit.
If you're wanting to get more into the artistic side of photography, you can pick up a Sigma SD14 right now for $400. I just picked up one myself last week along with a Sigma 30mm f1.4 lens and I'm loving them both so far. The more mainstream obvious choice which has already been suggested several times is the Canon Rebel XSi, which is what my best friend just picked up two weeks ago.

The Sigma is slow writing files to the card, but can take up to 6 in the buffer before you have to wait. The image quality is unique due to the Foveon sensors used and, as of last week, owned by Sigma.

If you plan to do a lot of sports photography, I'd say you probably will get frustrated with it, but the slow write time is the only thing I have found an issue with so far...though it doesn't bother me much since I shoot mainly architecture and inanimate objects...things that don't typically move on me. :)
"This is Sparta!" ftmfw.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
