"I'll just buy a PS3" I think this is the most common response. Buy the F*cking thing already. It has been out for a year, by the time you douche bags get around to buying one PS4 will be coming out.
PS3 is a game console that happens to play Blu-Ray. Outside of the people that read Engadget, nobody is buying the PS3 for the sole purpose of Movies. Get over it.
The point is, most HDTV's in people's homes are not 1080p. Most people are still not buying 1080p, it cost's more. You guys always have a problem thinking like average people. Most people see HD and that is all they need to see. 720, 1080, the guy buying his TV at Wal-Mart doesn't care, he just wants a cheap TV.
I heard that using the intercooler can actually cause problems. Don't know for sure. When I got the RROD the tech asked me if I was using one, I said no, and he told me that was good. Maybe it was just BS, but I thought I would let you know.
Exactly. I think for the most part, that is what most people do. The vast majority of the music out there is garbage and not even worth .99 for a song. I like go buy a new CD if it is from a band I know I will like, but to drop $10.00 on 1 good song and 10 fillers, no way.
Stop selling garbage and people will pay for it.
I agree, people always bring up that the PS 3 provides a cheap Blu Ray player, but the fact is 99% of consumers looking for an HD Movie player will not consider the PS 3 as an option for their primary movie player.

I love contests, yet I never win anything.
They the current leader and will probably stay that way for a while because all anyone else has is promises. Directv has been making promises for over a year, and they still have none of the promises. I know that they are adding some this month, but hey they will still be about 130 channesl shy of their 150 HD channel promise.
I have my networks in HD. You can also grab them via an Over The Air Antenna and they will show up in your program guide along with the channels you recieve from Dish. Nice for me because I live between two markets and now I can get both in HD.
There is a rumor that next week they will be adding as many as 10 new channels, include CNN, Big 10 HD, and TBS.
I made the jump. I got tired of being on the fence and waiting to enjoy my movies in HD. This is a great deal. For those of you who didn't notice, you get the 3 HD DVDs for free(you get to chose from a list of about 55) and they knock another $27 off of the player making it only $210! On top of that free shipping and no sales tax, best deal going right now.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
