Well, if I'm going to watch it because my kids want to watch it, I'm going to rent th blu-ray version, not the DVD version. Just remember, there'll be a movie that you want someday that others could say "These kind of customers are still watching VHS" about as well.
I thought the Panasonic BD-30 was the first 1.1 player...
Not only did I not buy an HD DVD player, I bought my 3rd Blu-ray player. Zero interest in that format, especially since I'm into films and shows from Japan.
Gotta say I absolute adore Dancing with the Stars in HD - and that 5.1 audio mix with the subwoofer!

Robocop was pulled because it's an MGM title and will be distributed via FOX instead of SONY. Expect it to come later this year when FOX gets things going.
Shoddy reporting begets more shoddy reporting? "Sony's Blu-Ray format does not work DVDs" is completely wrong. All BD players announced to date and general discussions with all involved companies say that the Blu-Ray format is backwards compatible with DVD. Blu-Ray players WILL play DVDs. How such a simple basic fact can be gotten so wrong continues to boggle.
