Why? Now that the HDM format is over is there really a need for lossless compression? There is plenty of room for LPCM on Blu-Ray and some studios (Disney) are actually doing it right with 24bit LPCM.
George Ou needs stop the rhetoric. There are tradeoffs than people will be willing to make like the MP3 format. And if bitrate was the only thing that mattered then why deal with audio formats such as TrueHD or DTS-MA? Shouldn't we all stick with Blu-Ray and LPCM audio tracks? Bottom line compressed 720p can be poorly done but bitrate isn't the whole story. And unconverted SD not going to provide any more detail than is already on the 480i disk.
Toshiba won't be able to keep up the HD-Players selling them at a loss for much longer. It's a poor business model, so much so that there aren't any other stand alone HD-DVD players out there that aren't just rebadged Toshiba units (dual format players excluded).
The scene with, you know, CGI and stuff.

"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
