PlayOn works great with the Sony Playstation 3 as well... ^_^
HOLY COW. My Jaw just hit the floor. I can't wait for the Blu-ray!

Also...I can't wait to see them capture some other stuff in slow motion, like a fish being eaten by a bird from the fish's view.
"we'd now say this is probably just the first of many big studio licensing agreements to come."

Well, you'd be wrong then. Universal is one of the LAST big studios to come on board with D-Box (probably because they have been licking their HD-DVD wounds since last January.) Fox, Disney and Sony have all supported D-Box Motion Codes in select blu-rays for over a year now.

Who's writing these things nowadays? I could churn out a more educated article after a 14 hour night shift.
Actually, I would think that sales rising on the two cheapest systems and falling on the most expensive would be very indicative of a economic downturn.

People will be buying more $199 xboxes and $249 wii's this year because they don't have money for luxuries like the $399 Ps3.

Funny, because out of the 3, the Playstation 3 is the definite front runner for excellent 3rd and 1st party games this holiday season. Hmm, well, a poor gamer can't be a choosey gamer.
Help me Obama-wan-Kenobi, you're my only hope.

oh and....

"Fire Justin McElroy!"
Don't waste your money guys, you can't even enjoy the full features of HD-DVD on this add-on and HD-DVD seems to be losing the format war as we speak...
X-Box is talking about 45nm chipsets for '09, by then we'll see HD-DVD included or a Blu-Ray add-on accessory.

@pete

The Next-next-gen xbox you speak of, the "Xbox 720", is gonna have to be released in 2 years just to keep up with the playstation 3.

Micro$ucks wasn't thinking long term and we'll see how that pays off for them. I bet Sony will have the last laugh. They are still selling more PS2s world wide than 360s..
Also, screw the 1080i update, I'm glad I waited to buy my 1080p Bravia...

I'd rather Sony put their time into other advancements...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
