@UnixSystemsEngineer: Yeah, because I'm the first person to suggest that Apple has monopolistic characteristics. That's why my comments are voted up while the comments you're defending are voted down... and that Apple logo in your avatar wouldn't suggest that your biased or anything.

You want another Apple monopoly... a "real monopoly" by your definition. How about the #1 music store, iTunes, limiting the use of purchased songs to their MP3 players?
@CraigJ: I addressed Apple's market share in my 2nd comment. I realize with it's current market share it's not a true monopoly as defined by the US but that doesn't mean it certainly doesn't act with monopolistic characteristics.

Also, I looked up the definition on Google. The first definition "a market in which there are many buyers but only one seller" fits. Apple is the only seller of Mac products AND it limits the sale and use of Mac products to themselves. The second definition on Google might as well define Apple as well, "exclusive control or possession of something". I think my usage of the word monopoly is valid when referring to Apple.
Well, with games with Halo 3, Gears of War 2, etc. $169 is a great price. I'm sure many people will be glad to take this off their hands at just $170. 2 and half 360s or one PS3...

Remember the $169 360 comes with a free memory card or $20 20GB hard drive.
"8 Dead in Train Derailment, 21,600 Xbox 360s also perished."
Really expensive ear buds... really crappy sound
They'll wait 6 months to a year. Wait for things to calm and then quietly try to kill them again. Mark my word.
Why not come out with a 4th model? Ultra is 2, Extreme is 3. It seems like it might be confusing with the same model name but with "30Mb/s Edition" tacked on.
I say get rid of the letters.

For example,

instead of 8800 GS, GT, GTS, GTX etc.

just do 8810, 8820, 8830, 8840, 8845, etc.
What a joke. Blu-Ray is in a one man fight and still losing. Does the Blu-Ray camp really think people will pay $700? For $700 I'd rather just buy myself another HDTV. These prices are crazy. You can buy a standalone Blu-Ray SATA player for $129. Does it really take $580 in hardware to decode Blu-Ray? Don't think so.
Yeah, better be careful when getting hardware off BitTorrent.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
