Interesting as I find Tele Atlas maps to be rubbish, but Navteq maps have been spot on. One of the reasons I shun all Tele Atlas based products. These lower prices could just be the start of a money grab before(if?) Apple approves Google maps turn by turn.
Meh, until they release how many units they had (which they won't), it will be like the inital release of the Kindle where it was perpetually sold out but you never knew how big the demand was. Once these get in stores, that's when you might have the suburban mom effect... right now it is just the geeks buying them.

As a Kindle owner (and previous Libre owner), I'm leery of the colour screen down there as a distraction unless it can be switched off while actually reading a book.
@Cole "So you can do voice and data at the same, quite a trick, holding a phone to your ear and using the browser at the same time, I know, not totally accurate, but still; meaningless to all but maybe 43 people."
So yeah when you're tethering (using data), trying making or taking a voice call. Oh yeah, you can't. See why using voice and data at the same time are important. So maybe it is important to 44 people, huh?
Googletalk or MSN/Live

Where's the love for IM+?
To be fair, renting movies via XBLM is comparable in price (never plan on doing it) and yeah it would make sense for Sony to add it to the PS3, but that likely means Sony won't do it. Then again, looks like they don't have an option as Netflix on game consoles is exclusive to Microsoft's box... not sure how long that exclusivity agreement is... http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2008/jul08/07-14instantstreampr.mspx
When they get it to work? Sounds like they are having problems just getting the regular Netflix to work on AppleTV (1GHz) let alone the HD stuff. Sounds like the HD stuff will only be on Mac Minis or better.
I think the video/podcast of her speech is jacked up... stops for me at 20:54... is it just me?
Why the Turner hate? It isn't Turner that hates black bars, it is Time Warner. TMC has long been known for showing letterbox movies (back when 4:3 sets were all the rage), but TimeWarner (via HBO/Cinemax) has long been known for cropping/chopping films.
And of course the high percentage of Safari usage on the Mac is because of what now? Oh yeah, it comes with the OS. CSS speed and compatibility doesn't count for squat, otherwise we'd all be using Opera.
It's PC Card, not PCMCIA card. Please let that old name die already. The PCMCIA also promotes ExpressCards.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
