Wow, as a regular Engadget reader i never could have guessed so many people want to get rid of vista and don't want to pay full price for Windows 7.
Bricked and i wasnt even jailbroken this time. Getting a G1, I have had enough of this crap. Also it is mostly AT&Ts fault, and iTunes, I hate iTunes.
Even if I don't win Engadget is still badass. And the marketing for this giveaway series is pretty inspired.
This is exactly the circumstances surrounding my PS3 + Dark Knight Blu-Ray purchase, and i am a not some stupid consumer, it was just the movie that made me decide to go blu ray and the PS3 offers a ton more than other bd players, including the games which i am also a fan of. But Dark Knight is responsible for my ps3 purchase.
Sunny, Dexter, Daisies...
Daisies will get cancelled, thus initiating my permanent disregard for network television, which was begun with Firefly. Cause lets be honest me and like 5 more of you will watch Dollhouse for more than 1 episode, assuming it even makes it there with Fox running the show
I know some people who worked at Tramantos during the filming of the show who all said that the scallops were intentionally planted as well. And said the producers were laughing about how someone ("Spike") fell for it while they were packing up the production after filming. Its not a controversy though... ITS REALITY TELEVISION.
Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy... And Lost. But that was more coincidentally related to the writer's strike. I just go fed up.
For the record I have 2 ultraportables: a macbook air with SSD, and an hp 12" tx1000 tablet
First I would fix the battery life. It is nowhere near what apple claims, and in my own experience much much worse than my HP. 5 hours is some sort of lie, i don't know what kind, but its a bad one.
Speaking of Lies, the SSD is another one. It doesn't blaze it barely out performs the standard drive and is blown away by the standard drive in a Macbook Pro. Props to engadget but ArsTechnica has a deep benchmarking writeup. But they pinned my experience exactly.
And this comparison is a great point, it doesnt start as fast as my roomies santa rosa macbook pro, and basically is the worst performing new laptop i have ever touched.
But IT FITS IN AN ENVELOPE, so yeah i got suckered. I am probably going to return it, I got 2 weeks, switch it to a reg macbook, get some accessories.

Summary: I would change this into a new laptop.
Ok I would accept this probably a little better coming from Apple if it was their sort of cheap small model, competing with the likes of the EeePC. Its just not worth the price. I think the reality distortion wake from the iPhone makes this crippled laptop seem like something people need because it is from Apple. I was really excited to see a MacBook update but this is just a huge let down to see them pander to the fanboys of the purely ascetic Apple fare like the pre-$20-update-bullshit-Ipod Touch, which was nice but just not as great of a product as it could have been.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
