I don't know about that. But reading your comment definitely says a lot about your character.
oooo...what if we keep the disc, lose the cover, pay the $5 and sell the bluray when it comes. Money making opportunity!
I rarely get any blu-ray rentals (most of the movies i watch aren't on blu-ray) so I guess I have to make sure they don't charge me the $1 per month. Hey, a dollar is a dollar. I can have 2 extra lunches in a year. :P
Plus, it's free if you have their dvd rental program already that's 8.99 or above, so why not. :)
I always thought the sweet spot pricing was "sub-$200". Where are those? Why are the prices increasing instead? I have yet to hear a name-brand (Sharp, Panasonic, Philips, Sony, LG, Samsung) releasing even a sub-$300 BD player.
Double-dips are the "ultimate" rip-off. Most studios come out with double-dips, triple-dips, or even quadriple-dips to fill the gaps in product releases because they can't produce enough quality new movies.
"MS partnering with Netflix and Sony partnering directly with all major producers to rend movies and buy them at exactly the same price. Looks like no one wins here."

That's incorrect. MS has Live Marketplace ALREADY with new announcement of Universal and NBC partnership for movie rentals and downloads PLUS Netflix streaming. MS wins here.
When I decided to get a console in November 2006, it was either a Wii or a PS3. I went with the wii, because it was the 'less expensive' one and had more games I wanted. So I totally do not understand what Howard is saying. Just because it doesn't play blurays so it's not a competitor? Then what's a 360? It doesn't play blu-rays either. Based on his comments, it seems like if it doesn't play games AND play bluray AND go online, it's not a competitor. That dismisses the Wii, the 360, and every existing standalone bluray player in existence as the PS3's competitor.

Here's a good one:
PS3 Speaking: "I like to look in the mirror and admire how great I am, and then I realized the image in my mirror is my competitor!!!!"

(And yes, I do have all 3 consoles, but Howard's statement just shows how ignorant Sony's CEO can be.)
Hhahahaa. I can't help but laugh. It's not a competitor because it doesn't play bluray movies?? The 360 doesn't either! So wait, is he comparing PS3 as a bluray player not being a competitor to wii, because it can't be comparing the PS3 gaming to a wii. 2 identities, so for comparison, he chose the secondary identity of the PS3 as a bluray player only because it's the only identity that's winning.
Import??? Did I hear import for bluray? Well, it may work as long as WB does not implement region lock.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
