Thanks for the post Comcast employee. It's funny how you mention watching Youtube and Hulu on a HD TV. I just watched the U2 concert that Youtube streamed live last night from the Rose Bowl on a 46 inch Sharp LCD TV. I just used an HDMI cable from a notebook to the TV. While I'm guessing it wasn't in true HD I was pretty blown away by the picture quality for a live event over the internet. It showed me the direction content is heading and I'm sure the audio and video quality will only get better. Audio and video quality is something that hasn’t changed on Comcast in the past 6 years. The reason I know this is because my neighbor keeps getting better home theater equipment but gets the same results when he hooks it up to his Comcast box. Well, you keep enjoying those Sex In The City On Demand reruns and let us know how much your cable bill goes up next month. P.S. Nice attempt at keeping the comments to a minimum with the preemptive Troll shot.
VOD is a last resort. We have hours of stuff on the DVR that we need to get to. Compost is such a joke that I got up on the roof and cut their line to my house. Haven't had them for over 10 years and have no plans on going back to them. If they were the only game in town I would rely on DSL, Over The Air TV, Hulu and YouTube.
I have a ridiculously large antenna in my attic. It's one like your parents (ok your grandparents) had on the roof of their house in 1958. This works great but if you need access to your attic on a regular basis I can't recomend using that style (you'll poke your eye out). This thing has a wing span of over 10 feet and is probably 8 feet deep. I wish someone would post a review on this antenna http://www.antennasdirect.com/C2-Clearstream-DTV-antenna.html They make some big claims and the size is something I would consider putting on the roof. Has anybody tried this one yet? http://www.antennasdirect.com/C2-Clearstream-DTV-antenna.html
Giving up the Voom channels for more HBO channels is like giving up chocolate pudding for more vegetables. I may get the Encore channel and I can't wait for the Lifetime channels (joking) but I don't waste time or money on those movie channels. Seeing "The Breakup" for the 98th time isn't going to be any better in HD.
You have to be joking? It's bad because the price of the pool gets past onto your cable bill. There's no free pools in this world. Just stupid muni boards that like to swim. Speaking of pools, I'm sure the prez of Comcast just dropped a baby ruth in his swimming pool when he heard this news.
If this thing comes in at a price range around $120 I'll be buying one.
1. Price.
2. The PS3 uses more electricity then your fridge.
3. Downloads or movies on a card the size of an SD card are the future of digital content.
These are the 3 reasons for not going Blu.
Equater was the best. I miss it. As soon as Fios comes to my area I'll be dropping Dish.
I hope that one post is right and they're only gone for two days. Equator is what you put on to relax or show a friend how true HD looks. Bottom line is if Equator and Rush don't come back then I'll really have no problem switching to Fios when it's offered in my area this July. I was already dealing with Dish not offering me my locals in HD so this is just another reason to leave.
They kind of wedged Cartoon Network in there next to CNN. I've got to wonder if that's next. I wouldn't mind getting 5 or 6 more HD channels in one punch. It would expand viewing opptions at a time when there is less new programing (spring). I'm not a big Si-Fi fan but I would check it out.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
