I also looked last night and found that they have Friday Night Lights listed on the standard def version of the channel (239), BUT NOTHING on the High Def channel (101)!!! Why wouldn't they display it in HIGH DEF??? This is Directv's huge moment to shine with the show (which has been shown in High def for the past 2 seasons), why are they dropping the ball?
Top Gear is my only show that I watch in SD (since the Brits haven't decided that they will invest in HD cameras for the show), and I record Oprah in SD for my wife, since her 18-20 episodes that she keeps on the TiVo would fill it up in HD (which is just upconverted SD anyways!!!). The wife doesn't know anyways and mostly they get erased and never watched.
Do we get TiVo back now that Newcorp's out of the picture? Wasn't the only reason for the crappy DVR because they wanted to get their own sister companies boxes pushed onto the public?
yay! I have been wanting one of these!
Nobody has mentioned the fact that when the new Satellites go up in September, all the new HD channels that they are promising will be in MPEG4 and be incompatible with the TiVo units..... thats the main debate for me!
Doesn't steve jobs always say that there is always "something great in the pipeline"? Don't we remember: year of the laptop, year of HDTV, upcoming amazing products..... dont get me wrong, I am a huge apple fan, but I held my breathe WAYYYYYYY too long for a G5 laptop (which never happened), etc.

I am happy that I now have a intelmac, but please steve, don't just tell us about new stuff in the pipeline, keep these new products coming!!! (macbook??? ;) Soon... please...)
What happened to just adding folders??? How hard would that be? I thought that it was supposed to come for the HD TiVo in April of 2005??? Is there a hack out there for that?
Can we not get a simple update to the full series two functionality for our HD TiVo boxes??? Sheesh, I am seriously thinking of jumping ship with DirecTV just because they have no TiVo interface with their new generation of DVR's. I tried using one of their new DVR's and the interface is archaic compared to the simple TiVo interface! Why can't DirecTV just issue new TiVo boxes as an alternative for their DVRs (I guess the profits werent enough for them??)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
