Most of the time when one sees a "stair stepping" effect on the diagonal lines of text, the problem is that the sharpness control is turned up too high. For instance, this effect is easily visible on all the 768p Pioneer Kuro displays in a local retail store, but it has nothing to do with pixels. If you pick up the remote and turn down the sharpness, this will go away immediately.
Word on AVS is that all Pioneer's 768p displays are no longer in production. A few of the dealers claim there is still a reasonable amount of Elite 768p displays in the wild, but the stock of standard Pioneer 768p models is dry. It looks like Pioneer senses that they can no longer sell 768p plasmas at the same price Panasonic sells their 1080p models.

"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
