Wow, a rear window with less visibility than a 73' Mustang fastback and upholstery that looks like it came out of a AMC Matador.

No thanks.
How is it that Scion as a brand is rated so low but the xA is at the top of it's class? Are the xB and the tC so horrible as to throw off the numbers?
Does the three door come standard with the sport suspension? I drove the XE model and thought the suspension was nice but fear that the sport suspension might be a bit too stiff, especially for a daily driver over pothole filled streets. I was planning on test driving a sport package equipped car as that seems to be the only way to get Stabilitrak on an 5-door XR, but may just skip it.
We test drove an XE model (only manual 5 door on the lot) over the weekend and came away impressed for the most part. The engine did seem a little bit underpowered, but nothing too horrible. It wasn't as smooth as say a Honda engine, but l'd gladly deal with it to have that excellent chassis and steering. We do plan on driving a Mazda 3 this weekend so that we can do an honest comparison between the two vehicles.

the marais' points are valid. Not only are there no incentives from GM to buy this car, GM has also quietly raised the prices on the vehicles. On the model I am interested in (5 door XR w/ leather and sunroof), the price has gone up $900 as of April 1st. Add to that Saturn's no haggle pricing and GM is setting this car up to be a failure in the US, which is too bad as this car deserves better.
Gee, it would be nice if Elgato's reps at Macworld knew this. I was at the show yesterday and saw the EyeTV Hybrid tuning in standard cable and QAM. I asked if the EyeTV Hybrid I bought last year could do this and was told yes. Came home from the show, bought the EyeTV 3 upgrade online (it wasn't available for purchase at the show), loaded it up and voila, no QAM. Bitter? A tad.
Will this have an ATSC/QAM tuner?
I bought my wife one back in 2001. I replaced the battery a couple of years ago and the thing still works great. I love that you can install OS X on it and use it as boot drive.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it can't play Apple Lossless files. I ripped my CD collection to iTunes using Apple Lossless and it is a pain when I want to load songs onto the old ipod.
K9 cars have solenoids on the rear doors. It allows the k9 officer to remotely release the dog from the car without having to run back to the car and open the door.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
