The common thing between a PC and MAC is the hard drive, same manufacturers, Seagate/WD/Maxtor etc....these will fail alot if no maintenance is done....run chkdsk and defrag once a month...it is mostly the file system that craps out, not the actual hard drive and as long as the controller is good, a low level format with make it usable again....the majority of PC issues are corrupt files on the hard drive, keep your hard drive in good shape=much less problems
I have had an ATSC/NTSC tuner in my PC for 5 yrs, a KWorld 110 and purchased Beyond TV as my PVR software....my first OTA HD show was a hockey game, the recording was huge, learned quickly that HD requires lotsa hard drive space....LOL
While I was setting up Win7 beta, I had to input a US zipcode from Grand Island NY, using that I got the guide with US and Canadian stations, although my indoor antenna cannot reach Buffalo, it did work for the Canadian OTA stations
Well, I guess I am stuck with my 2 yr old Sony 46XBR3 to watch the Superbowl.....woe is me

Actually, it is the best TV I ever had and do not regret the price I paid for it 2 yrs ago......
I have bought 4 Sony TVs and all are still in use, I have a 14" in my home office, 30 yrs old, works great, gotta love that Trinitron picture....My latest is a 46XBR3, big bucks 2 yrs ago and worth every penny....so I like their TVs but not impressed with their other products....there, my 2 cents
I have a PS3 and a killer PC with an nVidia 8800GTX video card....when pricing out 2 games, Timeshift and MOH: Airbourne, the PS3 versions were 59.95 and 64.95 whereas the PC versions were 29.95 and 34.95 so I opted for the PC games at half the price. I have a 22" wide screen monitor for the PC and the games look great....
This is a pretty civilized discussion...This is my 3rd post in this thread...seems both camps are covered here and I never owned an XBOX, so my take is slightly skewed....
I think my PS3 has more features than the XBOX will ever have...I could be wrong when the 720 comes out but for now, the PS3 is my total media entertainment box for 5-10 years to come and its because the IBM CELL processor is so powerful, a lot is mentioned here about firmware upgrades, it is with XBOX but the PS3 is an OS upgrade and can be upgraded for years to come, if the power of the CELL processor can stand the test of time....so for an investment in the future, the PS3 is KING...besides, the PS3 can boot to another OS, don't think the XBOX will ever add that feature (YellowDog Linux installed without issue and is cool for surfing the web)
So yes, I am a PS3 fanboy and owned the original 60GB since Jan 2007 and had ZERO problems with it...so there, to the user who asked the original question, XBOX or PS3?......PS3 for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I see many controller complaints here with the PS3, here are some solutions
The PS3 Remote
http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10084472&catid=27026

The wireless keyboard
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/playstation_3/keyboards/devices/3616&cl=us,en

and I too do not really like the PS3 controller for games, being a long time PC gamer, I was a keyboard/mouse kinda guy...well here is a device that when I was using it, my frag rate and game play were 100% better...lol
http://gear.ign.com/articles/799/799262p1.html

So I do not have the remote because the keyboard will control all the functions of the PS3 and it makes it easier to input text or websites while on the iinternet....

There ya go, more reasons to get a PS3
PS3 will have possibilities coming in the future because the OS is upgradable over the internet....streaming TV/Movies is coming....Media streaming with MP11 is great....my DVD's upconverted look better than my $300 Harmon Kardon DVD player....the demo stuff from the Playstation Store are alot of fun......for BD movies, the PS3 will be adding extra stuff all the time....and finally, lets see you put YellowDog Linux on an XBOX360

nuff said!!!

"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
