The images you see in that comparison are screencaps after transcoding from Viddyou and a commonly used entertainment video portal. We believe in truth in advertising and if you go to www.viddyou.com/hbr you can view the video that was used for that screencap and even download the original (under the Share button) if you want to see the difference between the transcoded version online and the original file.

Be sure to check out the 1080p demo since we just rebuilt the entire player in AS3. If you can maintain a ~1MB/s or better data rate and have a MacBook Pro 2.2GHz or equiv//better you should have little problem with 1080p playback. www.viddyou.com/hd for both 1080p and 720p
Had nothing to do with being too cheap as the PowerBook is fully repaired and I'm on a MacBook Pro now. My little fan hack made things work so I could get work done. The fan hack was more about doing something just for sh*ts and giggles.

I only paid about $20+tax at www.ifixit.com for a replacement fan. High five to those people for such a great site and rapid service.

Josiah! Thanks for the Viddyou love. =)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
