The company has an office in Irvine, CA but the TV's are made in China. I think the made in U.S.A. misconception came from a puff piece the AP ran on them several years back.
Motion blur, poor black levels, grainy? I've seen the 6000 and 7000 in two different Sears, both looked stunning.
Don't think so, as far as I know Vizio does all of their manufacturing in China.

I think it's just an image for the screen, like beautiful women or sunsets you usually see.
I had yet another DirectTV DVR fail on me, currently on my third in a year, in order to catch up on missed shows I introduced my gf to HULU. She declared it the greatest thing ever. Then when I asked if it meant we could cancel DirectTV she game me a funny look and said, "No." Which really made me sad, that's like $60 bucks a month we could be saving.
Maybe they'll slap a Chevy emblem on it and sell it as a special edition Volt.
Yeah, I don't even know why we have government. All they do is fuck shit up.
Awesome! My tax dollars hard at work... costing me more tax dollars.
I can imagine. I watched it on dvd, because I sadly have no money for HD :(, and all I could think is "I wish I was watching this on Blu-ray". The movie wasn't very good, but it was definitely a visual treat.
All I want for Christmas is FiOS to move into my area. :(
Depends on the TV, but SD content on an HDTV is never as good as HD.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
