Obviously Toshiba is having significant problems supplying HD DVD players too. What is not clear is whether the limited supply is due to parts shortages or efforts on the part of Toshiba to resolve the problems that have plagued the HD-A1.
In my opinion Toshiba has dropped the ball on an amazing opportunity by failing to supply a steady stream of players. With only 10,00 player sold and none on the shelves, my intial urge to run out and buy an HD DVD player has passed. Who cares if they 'only cost $500' if you can't buy one. When will Toshiba start shipping more players?
If Blu-ray has released 99 movies in six months, but a HD DVD has 49, won't people be inclined to buy the cheaper player? At what point I thnink it may cease to matter who has more content. Maybe it will come down to which consortium can deliver a steady stream of players at a price that people will pay.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
