Our current field test is showing the hr21 700 has some real problems. Directv advanced support has no answers for these issues and no idea when escalations will help either. There is no hdmi output support (waiting on a new sw release) and no 720 or 1080 output resolution support for the unit we have. We can only get the 16c sw version for it but we've been told we need at least version 180. Again, no idea when we'll be able to get that sw release.
The biggest problem we have with our new HR21 700 (our hr20 700 died and they only replace it with the hr21 now in our area) is that neither the 720 or 1080 modes of output function. Also, the hdmi output is not active. Some tech support folks have acknowledged the problems others are claiming they know nothing about it. They have no idea when there will be a resolution so our shinny new hd21 700 should be labeled a sd21 700.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
