Well Firefly hit the nail on the head there....COST!
It's going to be a long, LONG time before this is a feasible eventuality. Ironically, about the same amount of time that Truth Teller, Nfinity, and the other babbling disgruntled HD-DVD zealots finish mourning their loss and actually get a clue!
Instead they preach every tech imaginable whether it is viable, exists, or just a spark in some egg-heads noggin rather than adopting Blu-ray! Their future is DVD upscaling cos it's good enough...no wait, it's Super Up-Conversion!, or maybe it's HD-VMD...ummm no, it's definitely downloads (or maybe Blu-ray rips!!) WAIT! It's SOOO flash media!....*insert next new technology here*...it will go on and on!
The TRUTH is they have a bloody nose and refuse to wipe it! Grow up! swallow what little pride you seem to have left, and actually enjoy HD movies.
I don't think anyone gives a toss any more whether you choose to adopt Blu-ray or not!
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"

Digital video and audio neatly wrapped in a single cable? Pretty handy I'd say.
=)
