Steve, the hard drive will be replaced by using clips on the bottom of the system is what has been reported. This would make me believe that it is easy and will not void a warranty.
"I want more gaming value in the console not a Blue Ray."

You ARE getting HUGE gaming value out of the BLU-RAY!! Don't ever watch a Blu-Ray movie and you will still be justified to buy it.

CONTENT!! Think of HUGE games with AWESOME graphics and mini-storyies and side games!

This is a NEXT-GEN console! It's going to be expensive. THIS THING WAS MADE FOR GAMES, IT JUST ALSO PLAYS GAMES! Think back very recently in history to the PS2. What would it be if it didn't store it's content on DVDs?

Sorry again, KD started it...
Who is going to use their PS3 for a Blu-Ray player in 4 years?!

It's like saying that everyone that bought a PS2 got it for playing DVD's and never purchased a stand alone unit for their entertainment system.

This is to help the early adotion of the technology through gamers. I personally think it's a genious marketing strategy. To suplement that, I believe Rlu-Ray will overcome it's adversity. The percentage of the population that even knows avout HD-DVD and Blu-Ray is confined to the rich and the geek. Everything will be out and sailing by the time the general consumer figues out there is even a war going on.

Sorry for going off on a tangent. I was just conveying my thoughts about the similarities and that they will both make it big in their respective industries.
Thanks x23, now I'm hungry for a steak...
Does anyone have a list of the "problems" with the 15" MBP? I am planning on getting one and would like to be in the know now instead of thinking mine is broken. I don't want to jump the gun on smasing it into apple jacks in a fit of primal rage.
I love the design! I just wish they made a high end one with a decent graphics card and sold it for the same price as the low end MBP. They would have at least one of those sold.

That black is freakin' bitchin'! My favorite laptop design of all time is still the PowerBook G3. http://www.oldmac.jp/image/pbg3-01.jpg

By the way, here's a good site for all you people who like to "remember the old days" of Apple:

I already told myself I was getting the $600 model just for the bigger HDD the minute I found out. I really don't mind what they do to the low end one. As long as I'm able to get my $600 one.

I don't, however, believe that the stuff that they are taking out of the low end model ONLY adds up to $100. They have taken $300 worth of stuff out of it already! Maybe they will start marketing the low end at $399 now that they won't have anything good in it. You people wanted your "gamer only" model. Now you got it, so stop complaining. Those that have been following this are going to get the $600 one anyways.
I had no way of getting there this year, you know, with being deployed to Iraq and everything... Thanks for bringing it to me.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
