All new condos or apartments in any FiOS area have this. In my area (PA)there are hundreds of complexes that have FiOS already. We have even gone back and wired existing apartment and condo buildings.
I bought the A2 for $98 as a second player. I also did not purchase any new HD-DVD's when I bought the player. $30 is still to high to pay for a good movie. The cheaper movies I already own on DVD and dont see a reason to upgrade.
Just compairing 1 for 1. There is more then 1 HD-DVD player model on the market as well.

As for the BD-P1000. it sounds like a little bit of a love fest with it on the Podcast. If for know other reason then it doesnt sound like to you any other player is as good (HD-DVD player that is).
walmart #'s arent included in movie sales. They are inlcuded for this # but these are player sales.
Ben,

Did you read the story with your BLU-glasses on again. You left out some good lines from the story like :
"Within three days, Toshiba corralled nearly as many sales as the best-selling stand-alone Blu-ray Disc player has sold since its launch. Sony’s dominant Blu-ray set-top, the $499 BDP-S300, has shipped about 100,000 since it bowed this summer."

and

"In fact, the 90,000 figure for HD-A2 sales could be even higher, as it doesn’t appear to include all retailer information. "

nowhere did I see that only 90K HD-DVD players have been sold before this sale. That seems very low to me.

Maybe blu-Ray has sold more players because people have to keep upgrading the player every time a new standard comes out. Your beloved BDP-1000 was one of the worst reviewed pieces of hardware Home Theater mag has ever reviewed. I guess the people who bought the first gen Blu-Ray players have already had to upgrade to a better player.
This list is becoming more and more absurd. We are counting 4-packs of previously released movies as one new movie. The pack is 4 movies that are already being counted in the list so why count the movie twice?
Useless numbers since they dont include Wal-Mart or Costco or Sams club Or Bj's Etc..
Got mine this morning in PA. My Wal-Mart had about 30 and they all sold in a matter of minutes. I have 2 stores within 10 minutes of each other both had about 30 and both sold out by 8:30am. Thankfully my wife and I went to different ones so I got one.

Thank you Wal-Mart. I have already watched 2 movies I love this thing.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
