I had the same lag on the menus - it seemed to be a problem when connecting to the Time Capsule and the awful delay when Time Capsule spins up. I tested my theory by connecting to a regular wireless router, delay disappeared.
One of the downsides of this box is really that it feeds to one input at the TV (the whole point), however, some of my sources I have different calibration/configuration on my TV. For example: for my DVD input I have a "fill" to stretch to full screen, as opposed to my Dish STB where I have my TV set to "standard". If I went through this switch, all the sources will have the same display configuration.
EatingPie - The Westinghouse is not a plama, it is a LCD.
I have had the VIP 622 for a couple of months.

You can actually record THREE High Def shows at the same time - 2 from satelitte and one from an attached OTA antenna.

Playing back of shows: one output is HD and one output downcoverts to SD for a second TV.
I have always had a "problem" with Robert Heron - seems really condescending and arrogant (that is my opinion). However, even "experts" can get stuff wrong, they are only human. Many of us can feel that we are an “expert” in our job or hobby; however, you would be totally egotistical if you thought you were never wrong. A true professional “expert” can be wrong, but they will admit to their error. My 2 cents.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
