why is it scary? I'm confused. Oh right..the media says it is, never mind.
Ya thats true. I wonder too, what this geared for? wide angle is not great for portrait work, so is this camera more for landscape or interior shots? Are they assuming you can crop images later? I understnad the benfit of a prime lens, but usually thats in the context of being able to change it out.
Ya, f4 sucks. Give me a full sensor with f2.8 or even F1.8, then we could at least have the option of shallow depth of field.
Why are we seeing so many expensive 1080p projectors being released? Who in thier right mind would buy one of these for 8 grand, when 2 grand will get you the Epson Cinema 1080?!
Hopefully these cameras have less noise that plauged the HD3 and HD7. And maybe direct 'drag and drop' mpeg2 files. Until then, I'm sticking with my Sony HC1.
Here comes the new PS3 slim for $199.
Sony needs to drive the price down so more average consumers will buy one for bluray. I have 2 family members who bought one primarily for its media center capabilites alone. I say white for $300, it will match my 20" imac!
Looks like a Logitech computer speaker...only bigger.
Manual zoom is nice, but the electronic focus ring is slow. And try doing it with a LCD viewfinder! It's a joke.

$800? A Rebel XTi or D40s anyday! where is the HD video?!
esata out? could the HD-90 be the new hv-20 replacement for the indie filmmaker market?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
